MECOR Group

Our Attitude Makes the Difference

MAINTENANCE & REPAIRS

Maintenance
Maintenance activities are performed within three separate categories:

  • Preventative Maintenance (PM) is scheduled, periodic maintenance to keep the equipment in good working order
  • Predictive Maintenance (PdM) is performed in response to diagnostic and analytical results that help identify and support proactively correcting degradation in equipment which could have lead to failure and consequent plant downtime
  • Reactive Maintenance (RM) is urgent repair work required to restore functionality of a failed piece of equipment, but requires advance preparation to ensure availability of parts, labor and specialized tools necessary for all types of critical component failure

MECOR treats Predictive Maintenance as a distinct function compared to the more traditional Preventative and Reactive Maintenance activities. For Predictive Maintenance, MECOR prefers the use of a "Computerized Maintenance Management System" (CMMS) program to analyze information and monitor equipment conditions.

Listed below are examples of the tools we utilize to monitor and increase refinery equipment reliability :

  • Vibration analysis
  • Temperature tracking and thermal imaging
  • Oil analysis
  • Establishing equipment baselines and benchmarks
  • Electrical motor analysis
  • Analytical tracking
  • MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures)
  • Condition monitoring
